These criteria are set by the Institute of Finance Management, to determine whether you’re capable of meeting its objectives. This is based on relevant or similar skills, knowledge and ability you’ve demonstrated in previous qualifications, exams and assessments – see below the full list of entry requirements you might need to meet, for a given course at the Institute of Finance Management (IFM).

Sifa Za Kujiunga Na Chuo cha IFM

IFM provides academic programmes which include; master degrees, postgraduate diploma, bachelor degrees, ordinary diploma,and certificate programmes. The programmes are offered on both full time and part time basis.

The philosophy behind these programmes is geared towards producing competent, responsible and creative graduates with all the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to deal with matters relating to accountancy, banking, computer science, information technology, taxation, economics, insurance and risk management, actuarial sciences, and social protection.

Under each programme, a practical training is provided to students as an essential part of their studies. This allows students in mastery of knowledge by direct observation and develop their practical skills in the area of their specializations.

Ordinary Diploma

Holder of Form six certificates with at least a principal and a subsidiary pass (excluding religious subjects).
OR
A Form Four certificate with at least four passes (religious subjects not counted) and with NTA level 4 i.e. Basic Certificate from a recognized higher learning institution. For ODCS and ODIT, one of the passes at O – level must be in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.

Bachelor Degree: Direct Entry (Holder of Form Six)

  • Accounting

Two principal passes. Those without a principal pass or subsidiary pass in Mathematics must have a credit at O-level

Two principal passes in the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Advanced Mathematics, Agriculture, Computer Science, Geography, Economics, Commerce, Accountancy or Nutrition. Those without a principal pass or a subsidiary pass in Advanced Mathematics or Basic Applied Mathematics must have a credit in Mathematics or Foundation Programme of the OUT with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Two principal passes. Those without a principal pass or subsidiary pass in Mathematics must have a credit at O- level.

Any two principal passes in Science Subjects. Those without a principal pass or subsidiary pass in Mathematics must have a credit at O-level

Two principal passes at A-level

  • Social Protection

Two principal passes at A-level

  • Tax Management

Two principal passes at A-level. Those without a principal pass or subsidiary pass in Mathematics must have a credit at O-level.

  • Computer Science

Two principal passes in Physics and Mathematics.
