The Supreme Court (SC) of the Philippines is set to release the Bar exam results of over 9,000 examinees, including the official list of passers with surnames starting from A-G, in April 2023. The Bar exam was administered digitally and regionally, with reduced exam coverage and no longer spread over four consecutive Sundays in a month.

The Bar exam was headed by Alfredo Benjamin S. Caguioa, Associate Justice, and administered at fourteen (14) local testing centers in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
According to the SC, 9,183 aspiring lawyers out of 10,006 approved examinees finished the 2022 Bar exams, resulting in a 91.77% turnout. The release of results is expected to be earlier than previous bar exams, 3-5 months after exams.

The November 2022 licensure exams for aspiring lawyers covered core bar subjects such as Political and International Law, Labor Law, Criminal Law, Commercial Law, Civil Law, Remedial Law, and Legal Ethics, each with their respective weights.
To pass the Bar exams, an examinee must have a general average of 75% and no grade lower than 50% in any subject. However, SC En Banc may adjust and lower the passing percentage, as was done in previous bar exams in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
The list of passers will be posted on SC’s official website and flashed via widescreen at the Supreme Court’s front yard. The oath-taking of new lawyers candidates will be announced by the SC after the posting of results.
