SASSA Grant May 2022 Payment Dates;- It was recently revealed that around 46% of South Africans are recipients of a social grant provided by the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa).
SASSA Grant May 2022 Payment Dates
Permanent grants are paid during the first week of every new month. These grants include the Older Persons grant, Disability grant, Child Support grants and the care dependency grant.

Sassa also announced that permanent grants will begin to be distributed on the second day of every new month. Previously these grants were distributed on the first Wednesday of a new month. The announcement means that citizens will have access to their money earlier every month.
May’s grants would have been distributed on Monday 2 May, however, the Post Office does not distribute grants on public holidays.
The distribution of grants will commence on Tuesday 3 May.
Payment dates for May 2022
- Older Persons Grant – Tuesday 3 May
- Disability Grant – Wednesday 4 May
- Children’s Grants – Thursday 5 May
