Rajab Abdul Kahali, better known by his stage name Harmonize, is a Tanzanian Bongo Flava musician and businessman who was born in the Mtwara Region on March 15, 1990.

Harmonize, Early Life  & Background

Harmonize has been a resident of Dar es Salaam since 2009, following the completion of his secondary education. Because of his Makonde ancestry, he is occasionally referred to as Konde Boy.

His other names include Jeshi, Tembo, Mbunge, Konde-Mabeyo, and most recently, Bakhresa, after a Tanzanian millionaire named Said Salim Bakhresa. His debut single, “Aiyola,” introduced him to the Tanzanian music industry in 2015. He is well known for the songs “Show Me” with Rich Mavoko and “Kwa Ngwaru,” both of which feature Diamond Platnumz.

He was listed in MTV Base’s “Ones to Watch for 2017” African edition in 2017.

He was the first musician to get into a recording deal with the Diamond Platnumz WCB Wasafi label, and he later established his own record label, Konde Music Worldwide.

Career

In 2011, he began his musical career. He met Diamond Platnumz in 2015 and joined with WCB Wasafi that same year. “Aiyola,” his debut single, was a commercial hit. He received three honors from AEA USA, WatsUp TV, and AFRIMMA (in the US).

His song “Afro Bongo” was released on February 25, 2019. Diamond Platnumz, Burna Boy, Mr. Eazi, and Yemi Alade are all featured on his debut EP. Afro Bongo features four songs on the EP, including his big hit “Kainama,” which is track one. In a year, the music video for “Kainama” received over 14 million views.

At the close of 2019, Harmonize parted ways with WCB Wasafi and dropped a number of albums, among them ‘The Return Of Q Chillah’. Out of WCB, Harmonize recorded four commercial singles, including “Hainistui” and “Uno,” which are featured on his debut studio album, “Afro East,” which was published on March 14, 2020 and was produced by east African hitmakers Hunter Nation and Bonga. The follow-up to his 2019’s EP Afro Bongo, Harmonize recently released an 18-track album titled Afro East. Hunter Nation’s “Bedroom,” a popular single by Harmonize from the album, was released.

The fact that both the original song and the remix received over 8 million YouTube views solidified Harmonize’s status as a force to be reckoned with in East Africa.
