The North West Matric Results have dropped by more than 10%. The class of North West have always found themselves in the top, but their results have declined. Below are the North West Matric Results over the last 5 years:

- 2019: 86.8%
- 2018: 81.1%
- 2017: 79.4%
- 2016: 82.5%
National Matric Results Over the Last 5 Years
Over the last few years, the national matric results have kept on improving. However, the rate has dropped by 5.1%. The results for the last 5 years are as follows.

Where to get the 2021 Matric Results
There are many ways in which you can get your matric results. Each has been made quick and easy for your convenience, so you have one less thing to stress about. Choose the method that works best for you.
At Your School or Exam Centre
Get your results at the school or exam centre where you wrote your final exams. Go on the day the results are released. Your friends and teachers will surround you when you get your results.
In the Newspaper
One of the common ways of getting your results is in the newspaper. However, your name won’t be shown in the newspaper. Only your exam number and level of pass will be posted.
Get it Online
Want to get your results without leaving the house? You can also get your results online when you enter your exam number on the Department of Basic Education page.
Via SMS or USSD
Get your results sent straight to you. Send an SMS to 35658, with your ID number and student number. Keep in mind, no free SMSs or minutes can be used with this method.
What Does my Matric Pass Rate Mean?
When you receive your matric certificate, the percentage you passed with will determine your pass level. These levels, broken into three, are very important. They determine where you can study and also which qualification you can pursue. These include:
Bachelors Pass
This is the highest level you can pass with in matric. With this pass, you have more options to study further. With a bachelors pass, you can enrol to a university, technikon and college. For a Bachelors pass, you must achieve at least:
- 40% for your Home Language.
- 50% for four other High Credit subjects.
- 30% for two other subjects.
Diploma Pass
This is the second highest level you can achieve in matric. With this pass, you can study for a diploma or certificate from a technikon or college. For a diploma pass, you must obtain at least:
- 40% for your Home Language.
- 40% for three other High Credit subjects (Four, including your home language.).
- 30% for two other subjects.
Higher Certificate Pass
Even though this is the lowest level you can pass with, you still have many study options. With this pass, you can study at a college and achieve a higher certificate in the most sought after career. For a Certificate pass, you must obtain a minimum of:
- 40% in your Home Language.
- 40% in two other subjects.
- 30% for three other subjects.
