Chanjocovid.moh.go.tz. Citizens in all regions of the country will begin receiving the Covid-19 vaccine next Tuesday starting with three priority groups at 550 centers nationwide.
The groups that will be vaccinated voluntarily are, health workers, adults from the age of 50 onwards as well as people with chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and cancer.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children, Professor Abel Makubi made the statement yesterday when he launched the distribution of the vaccine at the Central Medicines Depot (MSD) Dar es Salaam earlier today

He said the 550 centers are public and private hospitals, which will be used to provide the vaccine. The distribution of the vaccine will be completed tomorrow and the regions with the highest prevalence will receive the highest doses.
“These vaccines are safe and effective. They have been tested by the Medicines and Medical Devices Authority (TMDA), the Chief Government Chemist, the National Central Laboratory and other authorities, so the public should not be alarmed,” said Professor Makubi.
He urged the Chief Medical Officers and other government authorities to ensure that citizens are provided with these vaccines free of charge and voluntarily with either a voter ID, NIDA, driver’s license or work ID to help the government keep records.

Referring to another vaccine load expected to enter the country for all citizens who want to be vaccinated, he said citizens can register from Monday via chanjocovid.moh.go.tz and will fill out a voluntary form and choose the day they want to be vaccinated.
“A person must have their ID when filling out an online form or they can register at health facilities. Everyone who is vaccinated is registered and entered into the immune system and will be given a certificate that is not easy to copy,” said Professor Makubi.
He also urged those who have been vaccinated to continue to protect themselves as the vaccine takes between 14 days and one month to build up immunity.
MSD Acting Director-General Benjamin Hubila said 3,400 doses of the vaccine were used on the day President Samia Suluhu Hassan inaugurated the State House in Dar es Salaam.
Hubila said since the vaccines should be stored in an area between 2-8 degrees Celsius, they have enough vehicles with that level of cooling for distribution in the regions.
