CSUF Academic Calendar 2022: Important Dates and Deadlines

January 10-14 (Monday – Friday)

The first week of classes will begin on Monday, January 10. This is also the last week of winter quarter. The next day, Tuesday, January 11, marks the beginning of spring quarter for 2020-2021 academic year. Spring 2020 will end on Friday, June 6. Summer 2020 and fall 2020 will begin on Monday July 7th each year respectively.

January 18-21 (Tuesday – Friday)

Spring Break is a time off from school that typically occurs in the spring. When you’re not sure whether your professor will be giving exams or not, this is one of the best times to go on vacation! Spring Break is often the week before Easter, which gives students a chance to relax and enjoy being outdoors while they still have time left before classes end for winter break.

  • Enrollment/Registration for all Undergraduate Students, including New Freshmen and Transfer Students
  • Registration for Senior Citizens and eligible veterans

Enrollment or registration must be completed by the end of the semester in which you began your studies. Students who do not enroll or register by this date will have their registration cancelled. If you are a new student, you must also submit your $50 nonrefundable fee to be assigned an academic advisor who will work with you throughout your time at CSUF.

February 4-6 (Friday – Sunday)(1st 6 weeks of classes)

Spring break is a week-long break in the spring semester at CSUF. Spring break is also a 3-day weekend in the spring semester at CSUF.

Students must be enrolled by this date to be eligible for financial aid or student employment for the following term.

The first midterm is on this day.

The midterm date is the date when your midterm exam will be given, as well as its time. It can vary between schools, so it’s important to know this information in order to plan ahead.

For example: CSUF’s midterms are given on Tuesdays at 9 AM (Pacific Standard Time).

Spring Break is the week between the end of the second 6 weeks of classes and the beginning of the third 6 weeks of classes.

Spring Break is not a university holiday.

Spring Break is a time for students to take a break from school and enjoy the warmer weather. Students often travel and do fun activities with their friends during Spring Break. There are many great places in California where you can go, such as Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood. If you aren’t able to travel out of state, there are plenty of great things you can do locally that will make your Spring Break memorable!

March 11-13(Friday – Sunday) (2nd 6 Weeks of Classes)

Spring break is a time for students to take a break from schoolwork and enjoy springtime fun. It’s usually a 3-day break, but it can be longer or shorter depending on the university and/or state.

Spring Breaks are usually scheduled during the second 6 weeks of classes (February through April). If you’re planning on taking spring break this year, make sure you keep these important dates in mind:

  • Friday, March 11th through Sunday, March 13th – Spring Break at CSUF will begin on Friday afternoons and end on Sunday evenings. This means that all classes held between those times will not meet as scheduled. There will also be no library services at any CSUF libraries on either day(s) due to low staffing levels during this period (please see below).
