Coverage of Bar Exams 2022

The November 2022 licensure exams for aspiring lawyers covered the following core bar subjects and their respective weights: Political and International Law (with related tax principles) 15%, Labor Law 10%, Criminal Law (and practical exercises) 10%, Commercial Law 10%, Civil Law I 15%, Civil Law II (and practical exercises) 10%, Remedial Law I 15%, Remedial Law II (with basic tax remedies) and Legal Ethics 10%.

Passing Percentage of Bar Exams 2022

To pass the Bar exams, an examinee must have a general average of 75% and no grade lower than 50% in any subject. While this is typical, the Supreme Court En Banc may adjust and lower the passing percentage. In 2012, the passing percentage was lowered to 70%, while in 2013 and 2014 bar exams, it was likewise lowered to 73%.

2023 Bar Exams List of Passers

The list of successful examinees in the November 2022 Bar Exams will be released by the Supreme Court by April 2023, following a special En Banc session.

Examiners used Examplify, a secure examination delivery program in which examinees used their devices in their preferred venues, monitored by in-person proctors and closed-circuit television cameras in exam rooms.

According to the Supreme Court, 9,183 aspiring lawyers out of 10,006 approved examinees finished the 2022 bar exams, resulting in a 91.77% turnout. The results are expected to be released 3-5 months after the exams.

The list of passers will be posted on the Supreme Court’s website and will be flashed on the widescreen at the Supreme Court’s front yard. Examinees will be able to download the full list of names in PDF format.

The 2022 bar exams were independent of penmanship as they were done digitally, and were not spread out over four consecutive Sundays in a month.

Justice Alfredo Benjamin S. Caguioa, Associate Justice, headed the simultaneous digital and regionalized bar exams, which were administered at fourteen local testing centers in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

List of Topnotchers in the November 2022 Bar Exam

The list of topnotchers in the November 2022 Bar Exam will be announced by the Supreme Court after the release of the full list of successful examinees.

In the latest Bar for batches 2020-2021, 8,241 out of 11,402 aspiring lawyers passed, resulting in the highest passing rate in history, at 72.28%. There was no list of topnotchers except for the list of excellent performances arranged alphabetically.
