A sidescrolling cinematic platforming survival horror video game called Deadlight was created by Tequila Works and made available for Xbox 360 and Windows by Microsoft Studios. It was made available in August 2012 for the Xbox 360 through Xbox Live Arcade and in October for Windows through Steam. Deep Silver released a Director’s Cut edition of the game in 2016 for Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Prince of Persia, Another World, and Flashback are just a few examples of the classic sidescrolling cinematic platformers that were popular in the 1980s and early 1990s that are referenced in the game. The game, which takes place in Seattle in 1986, centers on Randall Wayne, a former park ranger who sets out to locate his family in the wake of the zombie apocalypse.
Wayne must make his way through Seattle after being cut off from the group he joined in order to reach the “safe zone,” where he thinks his family will be waiting. He must, however, avoid both zombie hordes and the “New Law,” a group of vigilantes who have taken over as Seattle’s de facto rulers, while traveling. He starts to doubt his memory of what happened during the early stages of the outbreak as he moves around the city.
