where to find the 2022 matric exam results;- The wait is almost over for the matric Class of 2021, who will soon learn their exam results.

2022 matric exam results

This year threw a slight spanner in the works with the Department of Basic Education announcing that it would no longer make the matric results public as per the Protection of Personal Information Act, making the results much less accessible than in previous years.

However, a recent hearing at the Pretoria High Court has deemed the matric results a public matter once again. So, in addition to collecting the results via their schools, matriculants will still be able to find their results published in various sources.

Results release dates 

Matric results will be announced on;-

  • Thursday, 20 January 2023 for government schools, with individual results accessible on ]
  • Friday, 21 January. For IEB schools,
  • matric results will be released on Wednesday, 19 January 2023.

All provinces to release the results on the same day.

Department Website

The Department of Basic Education has confirmed that matric results will be available through its zero-rated website. To register, candidates must provide their ID number and exam number.

Collect from school

You’ll be able to collect your statement of results at your school on Friday, 21 January.

Newspapers

According to the ruling, newspapers have also been granted permission to print matric results.

What to do if I don’t get the results I hoped for? 

A remark, recheck or rewrite is possible for pupils who don’t attain the marks they had expected to achieve. The fee for a remark is R104.00 while rechecks cost R25. Applications for both must be submitted by 4 February 2022.

You can also apply to write the May/June NSC exams to improve a mark in one or several subjects. The closing date applications is 15 February 2023.
