Victor Akpan

Victor Akpan a Nigerian national from Coastal Union on a two-year contract.

Akpan has been a mainstay in Coastal’s defensive midfield making it to the Azam Sports Federation Cup (ASFC) Championship Final last season.

Akpan has been at an excellent level and he knows Bongo football well and his environment is one of the reasons why we signed him.

Last season Akpan played 26 matches scoring one goal and assisting with four more.

Prior to joining Coastal Union Akpan was playing for JKU Zanzibar which he joined from Katsina United in his native Nigeria.

Fans say goodbye to Bwalya for minutes

Lions fans welcome midfielder Rally Bwalya and take care of him after the match against KMC as part of an official farewell where that was his last match with our squad.

The incident happened after the match ended in a 3-1 win, where Bwalya walked around the entire fan base waving his hands as a farewell gesture as they took care of him to show their love.

Bwalya has thanked the fans, who play with the technical bench for the great fans who gave him all the time he was with our club and will always remember them as he wishes us well towards the upcoming league season.

However, despite bidding farewell, Bwalya said he could return if God would grant him that the job of the ball is from one place to another.

“I am very grateful to the fans for the great love they showed me, they have given me great value and I feel lucky to have this family. Simba will always be in my heart, ”said Bwalya.

Goodbye ‘kitasa’ Pascal Wawa

The club’s management has given a special hand to center-back Pascal Serge Wawa, an Ivorian national who is ending his contract at the end of the season.

Wawa will play his last game with our squad on June 23, against Mtibwa Sugar at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium where we will use it for his official farewell.

After the game, Wawa will not be part of the squad that will travel to the Southern Highlands for our remaining two final matches of the season against Tanzania Prisons and Mbeya Kwanza.

Wawa has been with us for four seasons enabling us to win the mainland Tanzania four times in a row, the Azam Sports Confederation Cup twice, the Charity Shield three times and the Revolution Cup.

With Wawa we have managed to play three quarter-finals of the African Championships including two Champions League quarter-finals and one Confederations Cup.

The management would like to thank Wawa for his distinguished service within our club and in appreciation of his contribution on Thursday we will bid him farewell in front of the fans as is our custom.
