Requirements

Before applying for the SASSETA Bursary 2022, you must have all required qualifications.

The basic requirements for a successful application are:

• South African citizens are required to apply
• You must be a resident of the Province
• Matriculation must be completed
• It is essential that you are enrolled full-time, not part-time.
• You must be interested in pursuing or able to pursue a qualification within one of these fields.
• You must be enrolled in or willing to attend a recognized and accredited tertiary institution.
• For Advanced Diploma programs, applicants must have a National Diploma in the field they are applying to (National Diploma in Land Surveying for Advanced Diploma in Land Surveying).
• If you are applying for the Architecture Master’s programme, you must have completed a Bachelor in Architectural Studies with Honours

How to apply for the SASSETA bursary

A copy can be obtained from the regional office/head office, or downloaded from the website. Follow the instructions to begin filling out this form. The form will ask for your personal information, academic details, guardian and other details about any funding you may be receiving.

Do not send original certificates. Only certified copies will be accepted. If applications are not received by the advertised deadline, missing documentation or not signed, they will not be considered.

SASSETA ABOUT THE COMPANY

To facilitate education and training in the South African security and safety industry, the Safety and Security Sector Education and Training Authority was established. SASSETA is committed in facilitating continuous learning opportunities and skills transfer and development within safety and security.

SASSETA was created when the Police, Private Security, Legal and Correctional Services Sector Education and Training Authority POSLEC SETA and the Diplomacy, Intelligence, Defence and Trade Education and Training Authority (DIDTETA merged).

SASSETA is one 21 SETAs in South Africa. These are vocational skill training organizations. Each SETA is responsible for managing and creating various programs, including learnerships, apprenticeships, and skills programmes.

SASSETA BURSARY: FIELDS COVERED

SASSETA invites students to apply for the Discretionary Grants 1st Financial Window bursary program, for the 2022 academic year. These bursaries will be given to 230 students who are interested in these subjects:

• Clinical Social Work
• IT Related Programmes
• LLB
• Nursing
• Paramedic Studies
• Pharmacy
• Psychology
• Security Management
• The National List of Occupations In High Demand 2020 (.pdf), also includes other fields. These are occupations with high levels of employment growth, based on trends in the past, present, and future, and are in short supply. There are 345 occupations on the 2020 OIHD list.
