4. Applicant and/or parents/legal guardian/spouse (where applicable non-SASSA) should provide latest pay slip not older than three months, Unemployment Insurance Fund letter, appointment letter, retrenchment letter.

All recognized applicants as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development should also provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.

NSFAS qualification criteria

1. South African citizens or permanent residents who plan on registering or already studying at a public university or Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college.
2. SASSA grant recipients (the SASSA COVID-19 grant does not count).
3. People whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per year.
4. People living with disabilities with a combined household income of not more than R600 000 per year.
