NACTE was asked to oversee the admissions process for the Certificate and Diploma in Teacher Education programs being offered by public teachers colleges by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST). For a specific academic year, the Ministry established and published entry requirements for Teacher Education programs to serve as a guide for student admission to both public and private Teachers’Colleges.

All tertiary education and training institutions that offer courses at the technician, semi-professional, and professional levels that lead to the awarding of certificates, diplomas, degrees, and other related awards are included in the scope of NACTE, excluding universities and their affiliated colleges.

On August 30, 2024, the NACTE application period for admission to the second phase of Health and Allied Sciences colleges was formally closed.
The Council received a total of 8183 applications for the second phase through the Central Admission System (CAS) at 174 Colleges of Health, with 4132 women (50.5%) and 4051 men (49.5%). Second, on September 6, 2024, the responses of the candidates who will be admitted to the Colleges of Health and Allied Sciences will be made public.
From September 8 to September 23, 2024, the Third Phase Joint Admission window for Health and Allied Sciences courses will be open. As a result, those who applied during the First and Second Phase windows but were unsuccessful are encouraged to try again during the Third Window.

Additionally, institutions will continue to submit student names through the Council’s admissions system for qualification review for applicants to non-Health and Allied Sciences courses until September 2, 2024. According to the Council Events Calendar, the responses of verified applicants will be made public on September 17, 2024.
