Yanga SC, Simba SC, and TFF mourn late Tanzania President Pombe Magufuli

The news of the death of President John Pombe Magufuli was confirmed by the Vice President on March 17.
Following the death of Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli, the continental Premier League and Premier League clubs of the Kenya Football Federation have sent their messages of condolences.

Magufuli’s death was confirmed on March 17 by Vice President Samia Suluhu. The Tanzanian announced that the president succumbed to heart problems in a hospital in Dar es Salaam.

The president, who was re-elected in October 2020 for a final five-year term,

“The management of Yanga SC has received with regret the news of the death of President John Pombe Magufuli,” announced the record league champions. “On behalf of the club members and the fans, we offer our condolences to the Vice President of the Republic of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu, to the family, friends and all Tanzanians in general.”

“You left us, but you still live in our hearts. Rest in peace, President John Pombe Magufuli,” declared the Tanzania Football Federation in a Facebook post.

“The management of Simba SC has received with great regret the news of the death of President Magufuli that occurred on March 17 at Mzena Hospital. During these difficult times and as we mourn his death, we pray that God may rest his soul in eternal peace, “announced the league champions.

“We sympathize with the vice president, family, friends and everyone in general for the death of the president.”

Azam has received with regret the death of the President of the Republic of Tanzania, Dr. John Pombe Magufuli,” the Ice Cream Makers joined in expressing their condolences.

Kenyan clubs were also expressive when Wazito FC and Kariobangi Sharks joined their Tanzanian counterparts in the duel for the late leader.

“We send our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the people of Tanzania following the passing of President Pombe Magufuli,” Wazito lamented.

“A champion has gone, the biggest tree has fallen. Rest in peace, Dr. John Pombe Magufuli,” stated Kariobangi Sharks.

Magufuli was present during the Kariakoo derby on January 4, 2020, when Yanga and Simba drew 2-2 in Dar es Salaam.
