Muleba is one of Tanzania’s six districts in the Kagera Region.The Bukoba Urban and Bukoba Rural districts border it on the north, the Biharamulo District on the south, Lake Victoria on the east, and the Ngara and Karagwe districts on the west.
According to the Tanzanian National Census of 2002, the Muleba District had a population of 386,328 people.

Kagera is a Tanzanian administrative region on the western shore of Lake Victoria in the country’s northwestern corner. Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and Kenya, which is on the other side of Lake Victoria, share Kagera’s borders.
Before June 1979, the area was known as “West Lake.” Bukoba is the regional capital.

Kagera is between 1°00′ and 2°45′ south of the equator, and between 30°25′ and 32°40′ east of Greenwich.The region covers 40,838 square kilometers (15,768 square miles), with the waters of Lake Victoria, Lake Ikimba, Lake Burigi, and the Ngono and Kagera rivers covering 11,885 square kilometers (4,589 square miles).
The total area of the region is 446 square kilometers (172 square miles) less than that of Switzerland.
Kagera is Tanzania’s fifteenth largest region, covering about 3.3 percent of the country’s total land area of 885,800 square kilometers (342,000 sq mi).
It has old, fertile soils, but overuse in some areas has resulted in soil exhaustion and the need for fertilizer.
