Kupata Leseni ya biashara (BRELA)
The Business Registration and Licensing Agency (BRELA) has completed the development of a modern online registration system (ORS), the system consisting of the registration of companies, trade names, trade, and service marks and their subsequent registrations, the issuance of patents, and industrial licenses. The system will enable customers to access all BRELA services wherever they are without visiting BRELA headquarters at any time of the day. BRELA began offering online services in modules starting with Industrial Property Services: Trademarks, Services, Patent Registration, and Companies.
In addition, the number of the company registered through the ORS corresponds to the TIN identification number of the registered company. Therefore, it is advisable to submit the company registration certificate to the nearest Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) office to collect the company’s TIN certificate.

The Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA) is an Executive Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade responsible for business administration and regulation of the laws; namely Companies Registration, Business Names Registration, Trade, and Service Marks Registration, granting of Patents and issuing of Industrial License. It was established under the Government Executive Agencies Act No. 30 of 1997 and formally launched on 3rd December 1999.
