The GCRA 2023 Bursary is a funding scheme which aims to support students in the Gauteng City Region Academies, that are studying towards a career in tourism and hospitality. The bursary allows for students to be awarded financial assistance if they meet certain criteria.

The Gauteng City Region Academy (GCRA) is a non-profit organisation that aims to improve the quality of life of its citizens through entrepreneurship, economic growth and social inclusion. GCRA was established in 2012 and is a member of the International Network For Business and Entrepreneurship Education (INBE).
With a mission to transform Gauteng into one of Africa’s leading business centres, GCRA provides opportunities for entrepreneurs to learn more about business management skills including project management, finance, marketing and leadership.

To apply for the Gauteng City Region Academy (GCRA) 2023 Bursary, a student must have completed Grade 10 and be currently enrolled in a full-time education programme at a tertiary institution.
Students from Grade 11 to Grade 12 are also eligible to apply for this bursary.

- Have a Grade 12 certificate (Grade 12 Mathematics) or equivalent. If you do not have this qualification, you can still apply but must pass the matric equivalency exam administered by GCRA.
- Have your NSC, NC, ND or NAC credential validated by your institution on our website for free. You’ll find out if you qualify for funding and how much money you can receive if successful in the application process once we validate your result with us.
- Once validated, these qualifications can be used as proof of formal qualifications required for admission into the programme(s).
