The 2022 bar exams, like the 2020–2021 bar exams, were administered digitally and were not spaced out across four (4) consecutive Sundays in a month, hence they were not dependent on penmanship. The November 9 (Wednesday), 13 (Sunday), 16 (Wednesday), and 20 (Thursday) dates for the 2022 bar examinations (Sunday).

After the previous digitalized bar exams were a success, SC kept up the good work and launched Examplify, a secure exam delivery program in which test takers use their own devices at their preferred location while being watched by on-site proctors and closed-circuit television cameras in the exam rooms.

February 16, 2023 Update: In the IBP NatCon, Atty. Caguioa stated that the results of the 2022 bar exams will probably be made public by the end of April 2023. This is not yet official, though. Close to the anticipated release date, they will announce the precise release date.

How many people took the 2022 Bar Exams?

According to SC, 9,183 would-be attorneys out of 10,006 eligible examinees successfully completed the 2022 bar exams, representing a 91.77% turnout. The number of students who took the demanding 4-day tests is listed below:

When will the 2022 Bar exam results be made public?

Results are often made public 5–6 months after the tests. However, because the 2022 bar tests will be conducted digitally, it is anticipated that the results will be made public earlier than in the past because examiners will have more time to review the answers. Similarly, three to five months following exams, results are anticipated.

The SC is holding a special en banc session to decipher the bar exam results prior to the official publishing of results. This is the procedure for releasing the sealed bags containing the test takers’ names.

Bar Exam Passing Rate in 2022

An examinee must have a 75% overall average and no grade lower than a 50% in any topic in order to pass the bar tests. Although this is usual, SC En Banc may change and decrease the passing rate.

In 2012, the passing percentage was reduced to 70%, and it was further decreased to 73% for the 2013 and 2014 bar exams.

In the most recent bar exam for batches 2020–2021, 8,241 out of 11,402 hopeful attorneys passed, setting a record-high passing rate of 72.28%. Other than the alphabetized list of outstanding performances, there was no list of top performers.

2,103 test takers out of 7,685 (27.36%) passed the November 2019 bar exam. Princess Fatima T. Parahiman from the University of the East came in second with an 89.52% rating, trailing only Mae Dianne M. Azores from University of Santo Tomas-Legasi in first place.

Associate Judge Mariano del Castillo presided over the bar exams in November 2018, which saw a pass rate of 1,800 out of 8,155 candidates (22.07%). With an 89.31% rating, Sean James B. Borja of Ateneo de Manila University took first place. Marcley Augustus Natu-El and Mark Lawrence Badayos, both from University of San Carlos, came in second and third, respectively, with ratings of 87.53% and 85.84%.
