The Council of Ulama in its session held on February 01 and February 02, 2023 in Dar es Salaam under its Chairman Multi and the Grand Sheikh of Tanzania Dr. Abubakar Zubeir bin Ally has revoked the appointment of Sheikh Alhad Mussa Salum as the Sheikh of Dar es Salaam Region from today February 02, 2023.
At the same time, the Mufti and Chief Sheikh of Tanzania Dr. Abubakar Zubeir bin Ally has appointed Sheikh Walid Alhad Omar to act as the Sheikh of Dar es Salaam Region from today February 02, 2023.
The decision to dismiss Sheikh Alhad has come a week since the leader announced the dissolution of the marriage of alternative medicine specialist, Juma Mwaka Juma popularly known as Dr. Mwaka and his wife Queen Masanja on January 25 this year, following the woman’s request for divorce.
However, two days later, on January 27, the Council of Ulama met urgently and revoked the decision.
Reading the statement signed by the Secretary of the council, Hassan Chizenga today February 2, 2023, Member of the Council, Issa Othman said it came from their meeting on February 1 and 2, this year he said the decision followed his meeting held on February 1 and 2 in the city here below its Chairman, Mufti and Grand Sheikh of Tanzania Dr. Abubakar Zubeir bin Ally.

“The Council of Ulama in its session held on February 1 and 2 in Dar es Salaam under its Chairman Mufti and Grand Sheikh of Tanzania, Dr. Abubakar Zubeir bin Ally has revoked the appointment of Sheikh Alhad Mussa Salum as the Sheikh of Dar es Salaam Region from today February 2, 2023,” he said.
He continued to say that the Mufti and Grand Sheikh, has appointed Sheikh Walid Alhad Omar to act as the Sheikh of the Dar es Salaam Region from today February 2, 2023.
