Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL PLC), a subsidiary of ABInBev and the largest brewing company in Tanzania, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Country Operations Manager to join our team in Dar es Salaam. This role is pivotal in ensuring alignment with our overall business strategy and achieving key performance metrics in customer service, volume, market share, and profitability, all while maintaining ethical and responsible business practices.

Job Purpose

The primary objective of the Country Operations Manager is to ensure alignment with the overall business strategy and deliver on customer service, volume, market share, and profitability goals in an ethical and responsible manner.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Safety First: Prioritize safety in all operations across Tanzania.
  • Strategy Execution: Implement strategies for T1, T2 transportation, and warehouse capacity and operations.
  • Inventory and Cost Control: Ensure effective inventory control and manage SCOH costs.
  • Customer Service: Act as the intermediary with the commercial function to support the best customer service strategy within each sales region.
  • Logistics Cost Management: Deliver results in Variable Logistics Cost (VLC).
  • Productivity and Process Uniformity: Ensure optimal productivity and process uniformity across T1, T2, and warehousing by sharing best practices and monitoring KPIs.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Drive innovation, benchmarking, and process improvement initiatives to enhance sustainable DPO/VPO/LCP KPIs.
  • Cost Reduction and Service Improvement: Develop and implement strategic plans to reduce operating costs and improve customer service throughout T1/T2 warehouses.
  • Budget Management: Develop the annual Zone Africa ZBB Budget and manage deviations throughout the year.
  • Capital Planning: Plan for capital expenditure, including timing and execution.
  • Support Initiatives: Support the implementation of Champion’s/VA initiatives.

Profile

Qualification & Experience

  • Degree in Logistics or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in FMCG, distribution, or supply chain planning at a managerial level.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislative requirements and customer service principles.
  • Credibility within the business and familiarity with local market environments.

Additional Information

  • Band: VI
  • Reporting to: Country Logistics Lead
  • Collaboration: Works closely with the Zone Logistics Team, Brewery & Planning teams, Sales, DPO/VPO, BOPs, and Global team, as well as relevant finance and audit teams.
  • Implementation: Drives DPO/VPO/LCP implementation.
