To help students prepare for transfer to four-year universities, offer career and technical training or to upgrade work skills, and to strengthen fundamental skills in mathematics, writing, reading, and English as a Second Language, the college offers over 100 degree and certificate programs.

MPC currently offers 14 transfer degrees in Administration of Justice, Anthropology, Art History, Business Administration, Communication Studies, Computer Science, Early Childhood Education, History, Mathematics, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Studio Arts as part of the Associate Degree for Transfer program with California State University (CSU). These degrees come with guaranteed admission to the CSU.
The college’s MPC Online distance learning program is expanding. MPC offers chances for lifelong learning in the local community.

Big Sur, Carmel, Carmel Valley, Del Rey Oaks, Marina, Monterey, Pacific Grove, Pebble Beach, Sand City, and Seaside are all served by MPC. The Monterey campus, the MPC Education Center in Marina, the Public Safety Training Center in Seaside, as well as a number of off-campus locations, all offer classes.
The community has been extremely supportive of MPC. A $145 million bond for the college’s facilities, infrastructure, and equipment was approved by voters in 2002. The modernization and transformation of the Monterey campus as well as the construction of long-term facilities for the college’s Fort Ord Center, including the Education Center at Marina and Public Safety Training Center in Seaside, have been made possible by these funds, ushering in an extraordinary period of renewal for MPC.
