The Public Service Recruitment Secretariat of the United Republic of Tanzania has announced a re-advertised vacancy announcement, inviting dynamic and suitably qualified Tanzanians to apply for ten (10) vacant posts across three prestigious institutions: the Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA), the Institute of Finance Management (IFM), and Marine Services Company Limited (MSCL).

Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA)

The Institute of Accountancy Arusha, located at Njiro Hill, Arusha, is a renowned academic institution offering undergraduate and postgraduate training programs. Established by the Institute of Accountancy Arusha Act No.1 of 1990, IAA is looking to fill the following position:

Assistant Lecturer in Insurance and Risk Management (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct lectures, research, and tutorial seminars.
  • Prepare case studies.
  • Collaborate with senior staff on specific projects, such as research and consultancy.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Insurance and Risk Management, Insurance and Social Protection, or Insurance and Actuarial Science.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields with a GPA of at least 3.5 at the undergraduate level or B+ average for non-classified degrees, and a GPA of at least 3.8 at the Master’s level or B+ average for non-classified degrees.

Institute of Finance Management (IFM)

Established by Act No. 3 of 1972, IFM is a public higher learning institution providing training, research, and consultancy services in banking, insurance, social protection, taxation, accountancy, and other related disciplines. The following positions are available:

Assistant Lecturer in Social Protection (2 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct lectures, research, and tutorial seminars.
  • Prepare case studies.
  • Collaborate with senior staff on research and consultancy projects.
  • Supervise students’ projects.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma in Social Protection with a GPA of at least 3.5 at the undergraduate level or B+ average for non-classified degrees, and a GPA of at least 3.8 at the Master’s level or B+ average for non-classified degrees.

Salary Scale: PHTS 2

Assistant Lecturer in Insurance and Risk Management (2 Posts)

  • Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or equivalent qualifications with a GPA of at least 3.5 at the undergraduate level or B+ average for non-classified degrees, and a GPA of at least 3.8 at the Master’s level or B+ average for non-classified degrees.

Salary Scale: PHTS 2.

Assistant Lecturer in Mathematics (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct lectures, research, and tutorial seminars.
  • Prepare case studies.
  • Collaborate with senior staff on research and consultancy projects.
  • Supervise students’ projects.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma in Mathematics with a GPA of at least 3.5 at the undergraduate level or B+ average for non-classified degrees, and a GPA of at least 3.8 at the Master’s level or B+ average for non-classified degrees.

Salary Scale: PHTS 2.1

3. Marine Services Company Limited (MSCL)

Incorporated on December 8, 1997, under the Companies Ordinance (Cap 212), MSCL is responsible for transporting people and cargo along the shores of Lake Victoria, Lake Tanganyika, and Lake Nyasa.

MSCL aims to be the most competitive, reliable, safe, and customer-oriented maritime transport company worldwide. The following positions are available:

Marine Engineer II (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the operation and maintenance of propulsion and electrical systems aboard the vessel.
  • Assist in inspecting and maintaining equipment, reporting malfunctions, and making repairs.
  • Record fuel consumption and lubricants.
  • Enforce marine engineering rules and regulations during watchkeeping.
  • Maintain a logbook.
  • Participate in emergency scenes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the superior.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certificate of Competence for Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch (OIEW) with one year of working experience.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent qualifications is an added advantage.

Salary Scale: MSCS 5

Kitchen Attendant II (2 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook various dishes.
  • Ensure the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic.
  • Wash utensils and dishes and store them appropriately.
  • Sort, store, and distribute ingredients and beverages.
  • Request ingredients required for dish preparation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certificate of Secondary Education and a Certificate in Cookery, Food and Beverage, Hotel Management, or equivalent from a recognized institution. Basic Mandatory Certificates as per STCW95 are an added advantage.

Salary Scale: MSCS 2
