Welcome to the Gauteng City-Region Academy (GCRA) online application system. GCRA is a public company established by the Gauteng Provincial Government. It was established in terms of Section 5(1)(i) of the Companies Act, No 71 of 2008, for the purpose of providing bursaries and other financial assistance to students in Gauteng.
The GCRA is managed by the Department of Education, with funding from various sources including provincial government departments, national government agencies and private enterprise.
How To Login GCRA Account
You can access your account by clicking on the login button. You need to have a working email address and cellphone number. You also need a valid GCRA username and password.

To apply you will need to register as a new user.
To register as a new user, click on the ‘Register’ button. You will be redirected to another page where you can fill in the registration form and click on ‘Register’.
On this page, enter your details carefully and then click on ‘Login’. You should now be able to access your account by clicking on the ‘Login’ button at the top of the page. Please note that you must use your real name for all applications.

If you have not registered yet, please click on the Register button below. Once registered, you will need to enter your email address and cellphone number so that we can verify your identity. Once verified, log in using your username and password.

You can change your password at any time by clicking Change Password in Account > Profile > Account Settings section. You can view all account details by clicking View Details in Account > Profile > Account Settings section.

- If you have not received an email with a link to activate your account, check the spam folder in your email inbox.
- Click on the link provided to activate your GCRA Account. You will be sent an email containing a verification code that must be used within 24 hours of receiving it.
- Enter this code and click “Activate”.
