GDE admissions register | Full Guide, Gauteng Education Department has opened online applications for first and eighth grade admissions for the 2021 academic year. Applications are open from June 25 to July 25, 2020. Parents can apply to a maximum of 5 schools. Supporting documents must be submitted with the application, and this must be done within 7 days of submitting the application.
Parents are encouraged to use a trusted mobile phone number when applying, as the department will send regular SMS text messages to the mobile phone number used to register and apply.
If you need help with applications, the department has established decentralized entry centers available from 08:00 to 16:00.
Learner enrollment applications are not approved on a first-come, first-served basis, so you don’t have to worry about parents.

Learner Placement by Schools [1 October – 31 October]
During this period, parents will receive placement offers via SMS. When places become available, parents may receive offers from all of the schools they have applied to. The system will notify parents if no other offers are available. Parents are advised to accept every offer within 7 days or they will lose the offer. The last accepted offer will cancel all previous offers
Placement of Non-Single Learners by Region – [23 October – 30 November ]
During this period, all learners who cannot be enrolled in the schools to which they applied due to filling all places or because they do not meet the admission criteria, are placed in schools with available space.
