Matric Pass Rate for Limpopo for the Last Five Years

In 2018, Limpopo achieved a 70.6% pass rate. The province has seen a 3.2% improvement from the 67.4% they achieved in 2017.

For 2019, the stakes didn’t go any lower for Limpopo. The province achieved a 73.2% pass rate. This is a 3.8% pass rate from 2018. Consistency and excellence seem to be what Limpopo is striving for.

On the 7th of January 2020, it received a special mention from the Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga. Limpopo’s Vhembe East region achieved a 81.5% pass.

Get Results at School

You can get your matric result statement from your school or exam centre where you wrote your exams. Your individual results will be available on 21 January 2022.

SMS Notifications

You can now receive your matric results via sms. To receive yours, follow these simple instructions.

To register, all you have to do is:

  1. SMS your ID number and examination numbers to 35658 or
  2. Dial *120*35658# to register via USSD

Each SMS costs R1.50 and USSD costs are R1.50 per minute. Free SMSes and minutes do not apply.

Newspapers

The tradition continues, but it comes with a few changes. Your matric exam number will appear in the newspaper, instead of your actual name. Make sure you remember yours. What are the Matric Pass Levels? 

The matric pass levels are split into three categories. Each has its own set of requirements. The pass you receive will depend on how well you did in your final exams.

Bachelor’s Pass 

Bachelor’s pass allows you to go on to study for a Bachelor’s Degree at a university. The requirements for are:

  • 40% for your Home Language
  • At least 50% for four other High Credit subjects
  • At least 30% for two other subjects

Diploma 

diploma pass allows you to study towards a Diploma after matric. You are only allowed to fail one subject. The requirements are as follows:

  • At least 40% in your Home Language
  • 40% in four other High Credit subjects
  • At least 30% for two other subjects

Higher Certificate 

These are the minimum requirements for passing matric. The requirements to get a certificate pass are listed below:

  • 40% in your Home Language
  • At least 40% in four other high credit subjects
  • At least 30% for two other subjects
